As part of RWE and EDF`s largest renewable energy deal to date, EDF will absorb all wind power produced by Sofia, which is expected to be around 6.5 TWh per year. This represents almost half of the electricity consumed each year in the North East of England, equivalent to the electricity needs of 1.2 million British households. More than 7,600 tonnes of CO2 are saved each year.
